My stay at Jozankei View Hotel was a mix of highs and lows. While the onsen facilities were impressive and the location was beautiful, the hotel itself felt a bit crowded and the dining experience left much to be desired. I enjoyed the traditional vibes of my tatami room, but cleanliness issues detracted from the overall experience.

Rooms
6.0
The tatami room was comfortable and had a nice view of the river gorge. However, I was disappointed by some cleanliness issues, including stains on carpets and an encounter with a spider.

The hotel is conveniently located near bus stop number 7 for easy access to Sapporo. Although it's set in a beautiful mountain area, it felt remote and there weren't many nearby dining options.
Dining
6.0
The dining experience was quite crowded, and while the buffet offered good variety, the quality of the food was inconsistent. I found myself queuing for a long time just to get a meal.
Facilities

The onsen facilities, including an indoor and outdoor pool, were enjoyable, although they felt a bit below my expectations for elegance. The arcade and table tennis were nice additions for families.

My stay at Jozankei View Hotel was a mixed bag. The onsen facilities were fantastic, offering both indoor and outdoor options that I enjoyed. However, the dining experience was marred by long queues and a bit of a crowded atmosphere. While the traditional room I stayed in was comfortable with tatami, the overall environment felt a bit tired and in need of a refresh.

Rooms
7.0
I loved sleeping on tatami in my traditional room with a great view of the river. However, the room could use a bit of a facelift as it felt somewhat dated.
Service
6.0
The staff were generally friendly, but I felt some could improve their attitude. They did help with issues like room changes, but communication was sometimes tricky, especially in English.
Location
6.0
The hotel is right next to bus stop number 7, which made getting to Sapporo convenient. But, it’s a bit far from attractions like the suspension bridge and there's not much nearby, making lunch options limited.
Dining
6.0
The buffet for breakfast and dinner offered a decent variety of food, but the dining hall was super crowded, which made the experience less enjoyable. I had to wait a while in line for certain dishes.
Facilities
7.0
The onsen was definitely the highlight, providing a relaxing escape, and I also checked out the arcade and table tennis at the hotel, which were fun. But the facilities overall felt a bit overwhelming and under-maintained.

My stay at the Jozankei View Hotel had its ups and downs. I was impressed by the luxurious lobby and spacious dining area, but the cleanliness and overall upkeep of my room left much to be desired. While the onsen facilities and dining options were decent, the long queues made for a less enjoyable experience.

Rooms
5.0
The twin room was spacious and provided a nice view of the Toyahira River. However, the cleanliness was questionable, with some unpleasant odors and worn tatami mats. The bathroom felt cramped despite the large room size.
Service
5.0
Staff interactions varied; while some were helpful, others didn't provide the level of service expected, especially when it came to room issues. The lack of a welcoming attitude from staff was disappointing as well.
Location
6.0
The hotel is conveniently located near bus stop number 7, making it easy to access Sapporo. However, it's a bit far from local attractions, requiring a 20-30 minute walk to the suspension bridge and park.
Dining
6.0
The dining area was large and accommodated many visitors, but the food selection was average and the long queues were a hassle. Breakfast options were particularly limited and could use more variety.
Facilities
6.0
The hotel features a large onsen and several recreational facilities including an arcade, which was enjoyable for families. However, the cleaning and maintenance of these facilities could be improved.

My stay at Jozankei View Hotel had its ups and downs. I loved the beautiful lobby and the tatami room with a nice view of the river. However, the dining experience left much to be desired due to long queues and a chaotic atmosphere, not to mention the cleanliness issues in the room and common areas.

Rooms

The twin room I stayed in was quite spacious with two king-size beds, but the decor felt a bit outdated. The bathroom was small and somewhat cramped, which was a disappointment given the room's size.
Service
5.0
While some staff were polite and helpful, I noticed a lack of warmth from others. Unfortunately, I felt that the service was inconsistent, especially during busy meal times.
Location

The hotel is situated next to a river but it's a bit far from tourist spots and shops. While there are family-friendly activities nearby, it's not the ideal place for someone seeking a quiet retreat.
Dining
5.0
The buffet offered a wide array of food options, but the dining hall was overwhelmingly crowded, causing long waits at food counters. The quality was decent but not really good.
Facilities
7.0
The onsen facilities included a mix of indoor and outdoor options, but the pools were not particularly amazing. There were also arcade games and a swimming pool available, adding some fun for families.
